This happened on November 11, 2009.
I took my son, who was in Air Cadets at the time, to a Remembrance Day service. At one point while we were standing, my son's cadet squadron was told to thank a veteran. Most of the cadets left where they were sitting to find a veteran to thank. My son, who was standing in front of me, turned around, shook my hand, and thanked me.
It brought me to tears as the memory does now.
